Item: Antique Victorian Book Chain and Turquoise Shield Locket Necklace. There are no stamps or hallmarks. The locket is gold tone. Not sure if its gold filled, plated or what. There is not wear on it. The chain is a gold washed colour. Looks like genuine turquoise set in the cover of the locket.
 
Measurements: Total length of the locket and bale is 1 & 7/8th inches. The oval measures 1 & 1/2 inches X 1 & 1/4 inches. The chain measures 16 & 1/2 inches long. The extender or drop is another 1 & 3/4 inches with the jump ring. It is nearly 5/8th of an inch wide. The weight of chain is 42.70 grams. The locket is 17.67 grams.
 
Condition: Antique, previously owned. There is no damage to note. There may be only minor signs of age/use/patina.
